If you haven’t heard by now, I got the amazing opportunity to shoot the COVER of Carolina Bride’s Spring issue.I have known for a couple of months that this post was coming, but I’ve struggled with putting together the words to express how I feel about it… Seriously… SO.MANY.FEELS. Being featured in this magazine is a desire for many of my brides (shoutout to Katie Kelly & Tyler whose wedding was featured in this issue!) and for a photographer who was born and raised in this town and looked as this magazine since I was a little girl, shooting the cover was a dream come true. I honestly couldn’t be more proud.
But what I have really been thinking about is this… getting to this point has been very HARD at times. The bulk of the growth of this business simultaneously happened during the bulk of my family’s growth, meaning bringing our 4 sweet boys into the world within the past 5 years.  Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t chance a thing about any of it but there have been many times that I have had to miss out on a networking event, the chance to grow a vendor relationship, or even turn down work due to the needs of my family. The photography market in Charlotte is absolutely amazing. There are so many wonderful photographers in this city that inspire me, and I have always wondered if I was keeping up.

I believe very much that it is by God’s grace that I have remained here and watched the growth of this business in the midst of our crazy family life. I even think that being a #momofboys has become apart of my brand a little. I joke with my couples that I have no problem wrangling a crowd since it is what I do on a daily basis. It has definitely been a team effort to keep everyone happy and taken care of (my team= my wonderful husband, mom, dad, sister and mother in law). My assistant, Makenzie (who is also a HUGE part of our growth) has helped me create such a fun wedding photography experience for our couples. It is our goal that by the end of our time together, our couples feel like family, even if it is a wild and crazy family that they are apart of!

In light of all that, I think it was pretty perfect that I did this cover shoot at 8 months pregnant with our newest addition, Campbell- see pic on page 20 of the magazine. You will even see a little newborn shot of our sweet little guy!

So enough about all my feelings, and on to the pretty stuff. This shoot was SO gorgeous thanks to Mandi with Social 10 Events. She seriously knocked it out of the park. Who wouldn’t want a brewery wedding after seeing this inspiration? We did the cover shoot and the details/2nd look on two different days so I am going to share them in 2 different posts. First up is our cover shoot. Thank you to the amazing vendors who made this day go perfectly. I am so excited to finally be sharing this with the world!
