One of the things that I try to do a couple of times in the off season is share some shots that either I or others have taken of us. We spent time with my sweet friend Sawyer Baird back in the fall and I love these images of our family so much. They are already on the wall in canvas form. 🙂

The peach orchard blooms are one of my favorite times of the year to shoot. They only bloom for about 7-10 days out of the year so the timing has to be just right as well as the weather. I got the opportunity to shoot Ashley and Clay’s engagement session beneath these gorgeous blooms this year and I love how their session turned out. I can’t wait to get back there and shoot some of my 2016 couples in just over a month!

Natalia and Richie’s McGill Rose Garden engagement session has me getting so excited about Spring! Especially on a cold day like this one. These two are just the sweetest and so easy to be around. Their chemistry is obvious which made them really easy to photograph. Engagement sessions are such a joy to me because this is the time I really get to know a couple before their big day. It is like a dress rehearsal, if you will. After getting a couple hours with this two in the fall, I can’t wait until their summer wedding.

Brittany and Zack’s Wedding day at The Farm at Brusharbor was sweet with some of the most perfect September weather and hand picked wedding details. Brittany was a type A bride so no stone was left unturned, which is music to a photographer’s ears. One of the things I remember most about this day was what Zack gifted to Brittany just before the ceremony. He gave her a puppy named Cash! Such a special gift with such a cute name, and from what I hear Cash has adjusted well as a new member of the Cockerham family.

With wedding season being so busy this year, I did not have a lot of spots open for family sessions. I do try to make space available for my past clients that I have been able to ge to know through the years. The Sherck family is one of my favorites and it has been a joy to see their sweet boys grow. They just recently bought a home that is considered a Historic Landmark in Charlotte and they are re-doing parts while staying true to the original design of the home. Our shoot took place at their beautiful home and I love everything about how it turned out.
Enjoy this sweet family!
Bridal portraits are one of my favorite things to shoot and Grace’s bridal is at the top of the list. We shot at The Vanlandingham Estate which is the sister venue to where Clinton & Grace got married, The Morehead Inn. I love everything about Grace’s style, she truly exemplifies her name is these images. I can’t wait to share her and Clinton’s Wedding soon.
Enjoy!
I have met few people sweeter than Kathryn and Evan. It was a joy working with them from the time that I met Kathryn and her mom at our inquiry meeting, and later Evan at their engagement session. I looked forward to their day for a long time and it did not disappoint. Kathryn and Evan were married in August at one of my favorite venues in the Charlotte area, The Farm at Brusharbor. The ladies that run this place are a dream team and the beautiful photo location possibilities are endless.
Kathryn and Evan, thank you for allowing me to be apart of your most special day. I have no doubt your will love every minute of married life. xoxo.
I love everything about Katie Kelly and Tyler’s engagement session, which is why there are so many favorites in this post. These two are so in love and we all had a great time together while shooting. Their interaction can’t help but make you smile as you look at these images. These two are both Charlotte natives (like me!). Tyler is a country boy and Katie Kelly is classy girl, but they make the perfect combo. KK & Tyler, I can’t wait to shoot your wedding next April.
Enjoy!
Many aspects about Sara and Ash’s wedding were what some would consider nontraditional, but after getting to know this sweet couple I can tell you that every detail fit them perfectly. I love Sara’s choice of emerald green for her wedding color. This color was strung throughout the entire wedding and at the center was Sara’s incredible emerald engagement ring.
Mandi, from Social10 Events planned this wedding so of course it went off perfectly. I love working with a planner who has it all together, it make my job so much easier! It was also a blast shooting at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. I love that these two included their enjoyment of craft beers as apart of their wedding.
Congrats Sara & Ash. Your day was amazing!
A few months back, I got the opportunity to do a family shoot that was not like anything I had ever done before. Erin contacted me because she wanted to do a celebration shoot. See, Erin had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer 6 years earlier when she was 33 years old and her son was only 9 months old. Our shoot was to celebrate Erin’s 5 year remission anniversary. Praise God!
This shoot was featured on Style Me Pretty a few weeks ago and there you will find more about Erin’s story in her words. Thank you Kerfien Family for allowing me to be apart of such a meaningful time in your lives. You have all touched me so much. Here are a few of my favorites from this very special shoot.
