Once I finished my last portrait session before maternity leave, I got pretty inspired to start tackling some personal work. First up, my niece Emerson at 6 months old! This girl is definitely the little princess in our family, which I don’t mind because because that means my little sister had to give up her princess title. 😉 Emmie is now sitting up, smiling all the time and drooling like crazy! We did an impromptu session at my house a couple of weeks ago and I love these images of our little Cabbage Patch doll. Now that I’ve started rolling, I have some pretty lofty goals on getting personal sessions edited, so look for more images of my family coming soon. Enjoy!

One of the things I love most about my job is that I get to see a family grow and change. In Julie and Jeremy’s case, I got to meet them for their Baby Bump session when Julie was pregnant with Maddex who is now about to be two years old! I have periodically photographed them about every 6 months since and soon I will be able to share in the joy of their 2nd baby being born, a little girl! I have grown to love this family so much and could not be more excited for their new little one to come.

This is the last session I shot before going on maternity leave, with the exception of some family stuff. Coming soon will be to some sessions featuring my family and some personal updates as well! If you hear crickets on the blog for a few days or weeks, that might mean we are welcoming our new little boy into the world. Although I will try to post pics of him as soon as I can.

But for now enjoy the Fisher family. We got a 70 degree day with snow still on the ground from the previous days. Can’t ask for much more than that!

The Leader family are some of my all time favorites. We have been going to church with them for quite a few years now. Michelle, their middle daughter is our go-to baby sitter once we have exhausted family options and my boys just love her. Each and every person in this family is so fun to be around in their own way, so you can imagine how fun it is to be around everyone at the same time… a blast! Their youngest Ty, enlisted to be a Marine and had been gone for training for a couple months where he finished at the top of his class (go Ty!). He was only home for a little over a week and I know how important it was to work this session in. I’m so happy we made it happen. Ty is now off to California for more training and I know he will do great. We are all so thankful for what you are doing, Ty and we will continue to pray for you.

I don’t think it could come across any more clearly how much this family loves each other. Especially the siblings which is such an encouragement for me as a mom with 2 (soon to be 3) boys! The Leader’s put God first in all that they do and their family second. I know they will reap the fruit of this for years to come. They are such an example to us and we love them! Ok, I could go on forever but I will just let these images speak for themselves…. Enjoy!

I got to photograph the Morrison family way back when, soon after I officially started this business. Sweet Harper here was only a few months old and it was such a pleasure to get to know them then. Fast forward a few years and Harper is now going to be a big sister. Dylan and Ashley are expecting their 2nd baby girl coming in just a couple months and I’m so glad they got in touch with me for another session to capture their life as a family of 3 and some baby bump pics as well. We met on one of the coldest days of this year but they were troopers (esp Harper!) and I love all the sweet shots that came out of this session.

Matt and I had the opportunity to drive to Virginia to meet sweet baby Graham for his newborn session. Susan is a long time friend and it was so special to be able to spend some time with her and Curt in these first days of their son’s life. Susan and Curt decided to be surprised by the baby’s gender so they didn’t know Graham was a boy until he was born. Susan worked hard on their gender neutral nursery and I am pretty sure this is the most beautiful nursery I have ever seen. I mean seriously, check out that wall! I love everything about it.

Congrats, Susan and Curt on your little guy. I know you will both be wonderful parents!

The last time I saw Liam was at his newborn session and he was a tiny little guy. Now he has just turned 2 and has a little sister on the way! Katie and I decided to do a combo baby bump and mommy & me session since daddy couldn’t make it for this one. Something about this session just captures me. Maybe it’s because I am 37 weeks pregnant with a 3rd little boy of my own, and so interactions between a mommy and her little boy makes me weak in the knees. Liam went 100 mph the whole time and I’m pretty sure he said ‘choo choo’ for 45 minutes strait,  yet Katie was able to have these special moments with him. I am so happy I got to capture them, because I know from experience that these moments are what get you through when you are completely exhausted from chasing a toddler and tending to a newborn.

I love this first image because it reminds me of one of those Pinterest images that I often get requested to shoot. We work so hard to get the shot with no luck because you can’t really force a two year old to do anything. But this image happened completely naturally and that is really what makes it so special.

When Noelle contacted me to schedule a Christmas shoot for her family I knew it would be a great opportunity to do a shoot with all the gorgeous Christmas decor uptown. The day we shot turned out to be pretty tough weather-wise but thanks to Founders Hall and some indoor areas surrounding we were able to find some great indoor spot with nice natural light coming in.

The purpose of this shoot was to capture the whole family together which hadn’t happened in a few years, but mostly is was to capture the apple of everyone’s eye, little Miss Zoe. This sweet girl was 10 months old at the time and she could not have been more easy to work with. Such a happy baby and it is clear how loved she is by her parents, grandparents, aunt and uncle. I’m so glad it worked out for me to spend time with this family, such a sweet blessing right before Christmas. Enjoy!

Little Miss Stella Bea has been long awaited by so many who love her. She gets her name from her grandmother, a great example and influence is so many lives including mine. ‘Bea’ comes from Memama Stella’s best friend. I bet these 2 wonderful ladies never thought their names would be put together to name a precious new one. The locket in these images belonged to Memama Stella and I just love the classic element it adds. This baby girl is the perfect addition to the Weddington family and her big brothers are already so in love as you will see. I’m so happy I get to be apart of your life Miss Stella Bea, I can’t wait to see what a wonderful woman you will become!

You may remember sweet Scarlett from her 3 month session a few months ago. It is amazing how quickly babies grow and how much she had changed when I saw her again. Scarlett was sitting up like a champ and doing everything she could to get as much grass in her mouth as possible. I love to watch how a baby is discovering the world at this age. Gale and Rob are such great parents and they are quickly moving to the top of my list as some of my favorites to photograph. Enjoy this sweet family!

Kathleen and Brandon are so adorable. When are discussed their engagement session, we talked about a fall/winter look with layers and jackets and I LOVE how Kathleen brought that to life! I’m sure Brandon had some input too. These two are clearly so in love and I can’t wait to photograph their May wedding this year.
