I love one year sessions. Especially when I have been able to photograph the Newborn Session and 6 Month Session. It is amazing how a baby changes over the course of just 1 year! Shep was a ham for his one year session and gave us lots of cute, happy faces. He was just days away from walking which worked out perfectly when I needed him to stay in one place. This guy is so adorable and I know he and his parents will make you smile.
Enjoy!
I love fall for so many reasons. One reason is, fall is the time of year that I reconnect with my most loyal clients for family photos. This season I have been absolutely swamped with family sessions many of these have been my repeat clients like the Fisher family. I have photographed these guys more times than I can count, and they have truly become friends. Both Maddex and Stella have grown a mile since I saw them a few months ago and we had a great time at their Pumpkin Patch session. Enjoy!
One of the pieces of advice I am most often given when people see or hear of my little ones is, ‘enjoy every minute’. And then I hear of how fast time went by for them. How their children are grown and off to college or having babies of their own. And you know what? I never get tired of hearing this. In fact, I try to hear it as if it was the first time, every time. Because time does fly, especially these little years. And while I am in the thick of it and so overwhelmed some (ok, most) days… These are the days I am going to miss most when they are grown.
So when I get the opportunity to photograph a family that is in the thick of it as well, I do my best to take full advantage because I know that time is flying for them too. The Spicer’s consist of Stephanie, Daniel, Alex and little Donovan who just recently turned a year old. They were such an encouragement to me during our shoot because I could tell how much they are enjoying these days of their children being little, which made it so fun to be able to capture them on camera for a bit. We met up at Charlotte’s Uptown Romare Bearden Park and this session turned out to be one of my favorites family shoots that I have done in a while.
Enjoy this sweet family!
The Porter’s are the incredible family behind one of my favorite wedding venues, The Farm at Brusharbor. And let me tell you, they run this place like a well-oiled-machine. It is one of my favorite place to shoot weddings not only because their land is GORGEOUS and offers so many photo options, but also because they are some of the best in the business to work with. There is lots going on behind the wedding scenes with the Porter’s with new babies on the way and one super excited big sister/cousin.
I have had the opportunity to shoot a good many large families lately and it is so wonderful to see the how close these families are. The Porter’s are no exception so enjoy the images of their sweet family. And be sure to check out their website if you are looking for a wedding venue!
Two year olds can be the most challenging age to photograph. And the most fun. When I arrive at a 2-year-old session I always ensure the parents that we WILL get some great shots in the midst of the crazy. This was surely the case with Enzo. This sweet guy was all boy with lots of energy, but at the same time was the most precious cuddle-bug . He loves is mom and dad and these images depict that perfectly.
If you are not getting your kiddo’s yearly milestones photographed, PLEASE DO. They grow and change so much in these years. I absolutely love being able to provide families with images that show the personalities of their little ones in these younger years.
Now, meet Enzo. I bet he’ll make you smile.
Derek and Kelly. Goodness, these two are adorable. I have known Derek since college and it truly did my heart good to see him with his lovely bride, Kelly. She really is the sweetest ever. Their wedding day was back in June but I have been so bogged down with shooting that I have not tended to blogging the way that I would love liked. This is the perfect post for getting back on track!
With 70 degree weather, an adorably fun wedding party and sweet spirits of the bride and groom, this day could not have been anymore perfect. Congrats, you two. Let’s have dinner soon!
Sweet baby Andrew was a perfect angel for his newborn session a couple of weeks ago, as was his super-excited Big Brother Ben. I had a wonderful time getting to know the Sherck family and it was a joy to capture such and important time in their lives. I love so many of these shots, especially the ones of the whole family. It is just so clear how much they love each other.
Enjoy.
Meet Mike & Eileen. These two are the greatest and I get the pleasure of photographing their wedding this coming October. They are so sweet together and definitely know how to get cuddly in front of the camera, which is my favorite! It threatened to rain throughout our entire session, but the rain didn’t start coming down until about a minute after we wrapped. Talk about perfect. And the overcast skies gave us perfect light, which only added to the fun for me.
Enjoy these two!
Diana and Bryan are the greatest. Bryan just graduated from the Navel Academy and Diana is so looking forward to joining him is his travels as a Navy wife. She seems to suit the role perfectly, huh? It was a must (according to Diana) for Bryan to wear his uniform and I must say, I am a fan of the style these two exuded during our session. I even processed some of the images in a more vintage style and I will share those a little later.
I am so looking forward to Diana and Bryan’s Valentine’s day wedding next year. They are so many super unique aspects to this wedding and I am thrilled to be photographing it.
