Amanda and Josh’s engagement session was on one of the hottest days of the year. It was over 100 degrees yet, these two still kept smiling and this session turned out to be one of my all time favorites. You can’t beat shooting at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, the options there are endless. For their 2nd look, we headed to Josh’s parent’s nearby lake house which was just as picturesque. These amazing locations paired with this beautiful and so-in-love couple made for a great evening. The fact that Amanda and Josh are getting married in Amanda’s hometown of New Orleans and that I was already booked on their wedding date made it impossible for me to shoot their wedding next year, but I had such a great time getting to know these two at their engagement session.
Congrats, Amanda & Josh!
Photographing Shannon and Jamey’s wedding was such a joy for me. They are two of the happiest people I have ever met and their families were just wonderful. I love the aspect of my job that is so personal that I am able to get to know a family on one of their most treasured days. It is a blessing for me to be apart of such a special time.
Shannon and Jamey were married at one of my favorite venues, The Farm at Brusharbor in Concord, NC. I have shot at this location many times, but it is so large and has so much variation that I never take the same pictures twice. Shannon’s and Jamey’s portraits are some of my favorites. I even have a shot from their wedding hanging on a huge canvas in my office right now.
The style at this wedding gave off a very homey feel. It was rustic but in a very polished sort of way. I loved all of their pretty details and I think you will too.
Enjoy!
I had a blast shooting Britney and Evan’s engagement session a few months back. It ended up being a perfect day with gorgeous light, a gorgeous setting and of course a gorgeous couple. These two have so much chemistry and love to have a great time together, so I know their wedding this October is going to be amazing.
Enjoy!
If you are a lover of the Queen City, you will love Jonathan and Krysta’s Wedding. This wedding was super sweet and especially customized to reflect the beautiful city of Charlotte where these two met and call home. Their ceremony started out traditionally at Covenant Presbyterian Church and then continued a little more on the nontraditional side at Unknown Brewery. It threatened rain and even did rain a little on this day, but it did not bother these two at all. You can’t miss their love for each other in these images. Don’t miss the cool details including the Charlotte neighborhood seating chart, the hashtag pint glasses and of course the yummy whoopee pies.
Enjoy!
Stephanie’s bridal portrait session was so fun. Besides the fact that I love this girl and her family (I could really hang out with them all the time), our location was wonderful. Growing up and being from North Carolina, I had been to Old Salem a few times on field trips. When Stephanie threw it out there as a possible location I jumped at the chance remembering how cool it was to visit. This Old Town within a town has so many nooks and crannies and is completely ideal for a photo shoot of any kind. It was practically empty and we had a wonderful time just rooming around and making beautiful images.
Enjoy this beautiful girl in this beautiful place.
The 2nd half of Clinton and Grace’s engagement session was out of a storybook. Like I mentioned in the previous post, Grace along with her sister Margaret worked so hard to put together every aspect of this portion of the shoot. I love shooting natural interaction and candid shots, but I also love me a good styled shoot within that and I adore the final product of this one. First Clinton and Grace picnicked with some of their favorite wine and cheeses. Then we took to the lake for some shots, in style of course. :):)
Grace and Clinton’s engagement session was one for the record books for me. Grace worked so hard to make this session everything that she had dreamed. Our session was located on a beautiful piece of land in South Carolina that offered many amazing options for images and the light was just gorgeous. I have so many favorites from this session that I am splitting it into two parts. This first part is portraits and more emotional/interactive images of Grace and Clinton and part 2 is more of a styled-shoot designed by Grace and her sister. I loved shooting all aspect of this session because these two truly are a joy to be around.
Stay tuned tomorrow for Part II!
I shot Curtis & Stephanie’s wedding a couple of weeks ago and I can’t wait to share those images, but for now here is a look at some of my favorites from their engagement session. These two are the best, and you can’t help but smile when you are around them. They are just all-around happy and are super laid back which made them so fun and easy to work with.
Enjoy this sweet session!
Diana & Bryan’s wedding was a dream come true for me. Their details were out of this world and they were the most down to earth couple to work with. Diana had a very classic but fresh style which shined though every aspect of their wedding. Some of my favorite things about this wedding were how their ceremony was most important as is their faith, the endless amount of details that had special meaning to the both of them, and how they put a modern spin on on their classic style. Diana’s cascading bouquet is a perfect example of this. The Magnoia Room provided the perfect backdrop and catered to Diana and Bryan’s guest perfectly.
Bryan just recently graduated from the Navel Academy so these two are off to live the Military life for years to come. Diana is already so devoted to her husband and I know she is going to be make an amazing military wife. Bryan makes that easy as he treats her like gold. Congrats to the two of you! Please let me know when you are in Charlotte.
Lauren’s bridal portrait session was so fun. I literally shot almost as many images as I shoot on a wedding day. We chose The Dairy Barn as our location and shot inside the barn for the first bit of this session. These images below are not my typical style of photography with harder light but I love how these portraits of her turned out. Lauren is the sweetest and is so down to earth and I think that comes across in these images so clearly. Can’t wait to share her and Colin’s wedding in the coming weeks. Enjoy!
