I am so excited to finally be able to share this shoot after having to wait for it to be published! This wedding inspiration shoot was a labor of love and I am thrilled with the way it turned out. My wonderful and talented friend, Mandi with Social 10 Events worked so hard to produce a style that was so fitting for my ideal bride and we couldn’t be more pleased with the final product. Icing on the cake is that it was published in both local and national editorials. Carolina Bride featured this shoot in their 50th Anniversary Issue and it was recently featured on the gorgeous Ruffled blog. read more
I have met few people sweeter than Kathryn and Evan. It was a joy working with them from the time that I met Kathryn and her mom at our inquiry meeting, and later Evan at their engagement session. I looked forward to their day for a long time and it did not disappoint. Kathryn and Evan were married in August at one of my favorite venues in the Charlotte area, The Farm at Brusharbor. The ladies that run this place are a dream team and the beautiful photo location possibilities are endless.
Kathryn and Evan, thank you for allowing me to be apart of your most special day. I have no doubt your will love every minute of married life. xoxo.
Many aspects about Sara and Ash’s wedding were what some would consider nontraditional, but after getting to know this sweet couple I can tell you that every detail fit them perfectly. I love Sara’s choice of emerald green for her wedding color. This color was strung throughout the entire wedding and at the center was Sara’s incredible emerald engagement ring.
Mandi, from Social10 Events planned this wedding so of course it went off perfectly. I love working with a planner who has it all together, it make my job so much easier! It was also a blast shooting at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. I love that these two included their enjoyment of craft beers as apart of their wedding.
Congrats Sara & Ash. Your day was amazing!
Photographing Shannon and Jamey’s wedding was such a joy for me. They are two of the happiest people I have ever met and their families were just wonderful. I love the aspect of my job that is so personal that I am able to get to know a family on one of their most treasured days. It is a blessing for me to be apart of such a special time.
Shannon and Jamey were married at one of my favorite venues, The Farm at Brusharbor in Concord, NC. I have shot at this location many times, but it is so large and has so much variation that I never take the same pictures twice. Shannon’s and Jamey’s portraits are some of my favorites. I even have a shot from their wedding hanging on a huge canvas in my office right now.
The style at this wedding gave off a very homey feel. It was rustic but in a very polished sort of way. I loved all of their pretty details and I think you will too.
Enjoy!
If you are a lover of the Queen City, you will love Jonathan and Krysta’s Wedding. This wedding was super sweet and especially customized to reflect the beautiful city of Charlotte where these two met and call home. Their ceremony started out traditionally at Covenant Presbyterian Church and then continued a little more on the nontraditional side at Unknown Brewery. It threatened rain and even did rain a little on this day, but it did not bother these two at all. You can’t miss their love for each other in these images. Don’t miss the cool details including the Charlotte neighborhood seating chart, the hashtag pint glasses and of course the yummy whoopee pies.
Enjoy!
Diana & Bryan’s wedding was a dream come true for me. Their details were out of this world and they were the most down to earth couple to work with. Diana had a very classic but fresh style which shined though every aspect of their wedding. Some of my favorite things about this wedding were how their ceremony was most important as is their faith, the endless amount of details that had special meaning to the both of them, and how they put a modern spin on on their classic style. Diana’s cascading bouquet is a perfect example of this. The Magnoia Room provided the perfect backdrop and catered to Diana and Bryan’s guest perfectly.
Bryan just recently graduated from the Navel Academy so these two are off to live the Military life for years to come. Diana is already so devoted to her husband and I know she is going to be make an amazing military wife. Bryan makes that easy as he treats her like gold. Congrats to the two of you! Please let me know when you are in Charlotte.
Natalie and Ryan’s details were gorgeous. Some words I would use to describe the style of their wedding is, warm yet elegant, genuine and romantic. They made use of the of deep tones and accented them with light blushes and greens to give the wedding a light but sophisticated feel. Natalie said, ” We hand picked all the different lanterns used as centerpieces and in the fireplace at several different stores throughout Charlotte. ” These personal touches were clearly seen throughout the wedding.
Natalie and Ryan, I adore you two. Let’s get together for dinner soon!

Natalie and Ryan… I may or may not be obsessed with their wedding. When I look as these images I literally cannot stop staring. Their day was a cold one but I beleive the cold only added to the wonder of the day because they got to be that much more cuddly, and we had the opportunity to use all the pretty blankets they graciously provided for their guests. Natalie choose the color Marsala as their primary color not knowing this would be Pantone’s color of the year in 2015. So fashion forward this girl.
It was also wonderful that I got to work with a dream team of vendors including their venue, The Arbors Events and Mandi from Social10 Events was their amazing coordinator. The gorgeous florals were provided by Willow Delivered and DJ Groove kept us dancing all night long.
Enjoy this gorgeous wedding and stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow!
Krysta and Jonathan’s engagement session is seriously adorable. But the one who really stole the show was their Labradoodle, Waffles. Waffles was apart of many aspects of their session as you will see, and this is completely understandable since Waffles is kinda the reason they met and they Krysta and Jonathan both adore him. They even brought along a friend who we affectionately called the “Doodle Wrangler.” I had so much fun with this crew, running around Uptown and capturing beautiful shots of their family of 3. 🙂 We even stopped by the courthouse because Jonathan works there as an attorney. I loved being able to shoot there, it is so huge and beautiful.
Krysta and Jonathan, I can’t wait until your wedding in April!
I had the pleasure of photographing Mike and Eileen’s wedding this past fall. I have kinda been in a blogging hiatus the past couple of months because of end of year editing and Christmas time busyness, but I am thrilled to be back to regularly blogging and to have Mike and Eileen’s sweet wedding day first up! Located at the Brawley House, this wedding is filled with beautiful fall colors and blooms.
Mike and Eileen, thank you for allowing me to photograph your special day. It was an honor and a blast. Much love to you both.
Enjoy-
