When I met with Patricia in May of last year, over a year out from her Sept 2016 wedding, I knew from the beginning that she was a bride that I had to work with. Her style fit with mine perfectly, and I loved that beautiful details mattered to her while also being very type A and organized. Just like me! Patricia and Devin’s wedding was soft and airy and so down to earth. I loved every part of it. We got to photograph their bride and groom portraits in the best light of the day and they have turned out to be some of my all-time favorites. Natalia & Richie’s wedding day was nothing short of amazing. In addition to the the fact that these two are kind of the most beautiful, they are so incredibly sweet and down to earth. Natalia’s details were stunning (that bolero she is wearing? LOVE) and The Ballantyne Hotel pulled off such a classy wedding reception. It was a sweet time to have all of Richie’s family and all of Natalia’s family together, some meeting for the first time since many of Natalia’s family members came from Spain. Katy and Brad have got me hooked on the brunch wedding! Everything about this wedding was absolutely beautiful and delicious. I mean seriously, bacon and french toast is a welcomed treat in our house any time of day. Katy put so much time and effort into every detail of this day and it was an absolute joy to photograph. That being said, one of my favorite parts of the day had nothing to do with the details. Katy and Brad’s First Look was so natural and sweet. (See below) It is clear how much these two love each other and how happy they were to be getting married. That is why I do this job. Even after shooting dozens of weddings, those moments still make me tear up. I did not meet Lauren and Kyle in person until their wedding day because they are living in Arizona, but after chatting with them over the phone it felt like we had known each another for years. These two are just so down to earth. Lauren wanted to have her wedding in her home state of NC, so they worked hard to plan this wedding with so many beautiful details from many miles away. It was my first time shooting at Little River Vineyards and I loved every inch of of the space. I also loved the emphasis Lauren put on florals as well as the incredibly beautiful dress! When we pulled up to the the Rose Hill Plantation on Alex & Mike’s 70-degree wedding day, I knew it was going to be an amazing. Located just outside of Raleigh in Nashville, NC this venue is everything a bride would want with a style that ranges from elegant to rustic and everything in between. It was the perfect fit for Alex and Mike whose wedding really embraced that soft elegant but slightly rustic style. These two were a joy to spend the day with. There was not a doubt about how much they love each other and how excited they were to be married to one another that day. read more
Katie-Kelly and Tyler’s wedding day was the kick-off wedding to our Charlotte wedding season this year and I could not have imagined a better start to the year. I have adored these two since their engagement session and I am so thrilled with how their day turned out. There were so many moments in this day that made me tear-up which is pretty hard to do since I attend about 20 weddings per year. I LOVE KK’s style. Everything about it, and because of that, this post got a little long. This was my first wedding of 3 at The Whitehead Manor this year and I am so happy to be shooting at this venue so much. One thing that comes up pretty quickly when people get to know me is that I spent 3 years living in the Middle East after college. The majority of that time was spent living and Lebanon and it is no secret that this country is very near and dear to my heart. I was interviewed in the recent issue of Carolina Bride and one of the questions asked was, “If you could share a meal with anyone, who would it be?” While many people would answer a famous person or maybe a beloved author or musician, I answered for all my friends from my time in Lebanon to be in one room at the same time. Since leaving Beirut in 2008 many of us have scattered around the U.S. and the world. What I wouldn’t give to have us all back together again. read more
Words cannot describe how much I love this couple and their Morehead Inn wedding day. Clinton and Grace are two of the sweetest and most fun people to be around and they have a style that I love. Their wedding had this classic style woven through every part and it was an absolute joy to photograph. Curtis and Stephanie’s wedding was a highlight of my 2015 wedding season even if their wedding day was on one of the hottest days of the year. I don’t if anyone remembers those scorching hot temps last June?? Even despite the heat though, these two kept a smile on their face the whole day which was infectious to us all. Stephanie had a soft and delicate homegrown style that I loved and that was woven through every detail of their wedding. Their venue, The Gardens at Gray Gables only added to Stephanie’s beautiful style.
