2017…whew, what I year! I was just telling a friend yesterday that I think I might be traveled out for a while. That is HUGE coming from me who LOVES traveling, has lived in 4 different countries, and visited to countless places. This year was definitely the year of travel for us as we got to go near and far to photograph some incredible weddings. From Texas to ITALY, from Charlottesville to Charleston, from Asheville to Charlotte, we have loved every minute of it. Well, except the minutes I was missing my babies which is why this winter will be a nice break free of travel.
Nonetheless, it has been an amazing year and I am so thankful. read more
Jennifer’s bridal portraits at the lovely Duke Mansion turned out absolutely gorgeous. Cali Stott from Cali Stott Artistry did an amazing job on Jennifer’s H&MU and this location is absolutely perfect for portraits. Enjoy this beautiful bride. read more
This past Saturday was the beginning of our wedding season and I could have asked for a better couple to start with than Holly and David. These two are truly the salt of the earth and their wedding was so genuine and beautiful. Check out my Instagram for a few sneak peeks from their day.
Kathryn’s natural beauty glowed throughout her bridal portrait session. I love everything about her delicate look, these are some of my favorite bridals. read more
Today is the day I have determined to catch up on blogging! I get behind during busy season every year and I told myself that wouldn’t happen this year. Well, it did. But (hopefully) starting this week you will see at least one per week coming out or maybe even more (wishful thinking!). There is so much pretty to share from 2016 and I can’t wait to have it all posted for everyone to see. read more
Brittany and Zack’s Wedding day at The Farm at Brusharbor was sweet with some of the most perfect September weather and hand picked wedding details. Brittany was a type A bride so no stone was left unturned, which is music to a photographer’s ears. One of the things I remember most about this day was what Zack gifted to Brittany just before the ceremony. He gave her a puppy named Cash! Such a special gift with such a cute name, and from what I hear Cash has adjusted well as a new member of the Cockerham family.
Congrats you two! read more
Bridal portraits are one of my favorite things to shoot and Grace’s bridal is at the top of the list. We shot at The Vanlandingham Estate which is the sister venue to where Clinton & Grace got married, The Morehead Inn. I love everything about Grace’s style, she truly exemplifies her name is these images. I can’t wait to share her and Clinton’s Wedding soon.
Enjoy!
Stephanie’s bridal portrait session was so fun. Besides the fact that I love this girl and her family (I could really hang out with them all the time), our location was wonderful. Growing up and being from North Carolina, I had been to Old Salem a few times on field trips. When Stephanie threw it out there as a possible location I jumped at the chance remembering how cool it was to visit. This Old Town within a town has so many nooks and crannies and is completely ideal for a photo shoot of any kind. It was practically empty and we had a wonderful time just rooming around and making beautiful images.
Enjoy this beautiful girl in this beautiful place.
Lauren’s bridal portrait session was so fun. I literally shot almost as many images as I shoot on a wedding day. We chose The Dairy Barn as our location and shot inside the barn for the first bit of this session. These images below are not my typical style of photography with harder light but I love how these portraits of her turned out. Lauren is the sweetest and is so down to earth and I think that comes across in these images so clearly. Can’t wait to share her and Colin’s wedding in the coming weeks. Enjoy!
Oh sweet Sarah… What a blessing this girl and her man have been to my family since we have gotten to know them. Sarah is our neighbor along with the rest of her and Tommy’s family and we love the whole McClellan bunch so much (as do our boys!). Unfortunately, I already had a wedding on the books for Sarah and Tommy’s wedding date, but we thought it would be fun to put together a vintage bridal shoot with Sarah’s great aunt’s wedding dress. I LOVE LOVE how it turned out and Sarah was definitely a natural in front of my camera. My sister Amy from Carmen Carman Salon e Spa did a fabulous job on her hair. Stay tuned tomorrow when I will post some vintage processed black and while images from this session.
Congrats Tommy & Sarah!
