I met the Achenbach family through a benefit where I offered a mini-session to be silent auctioned off. The benefit was for a sweet friend Holly, who was battling breast cancer (Holly is now cancer-free, praise the Lord). Cassie is also a friend of Holly’s and they won my session. Towards the end of our session Cassie asked me if I knew Ezekiel. If you have not heard me talk about Ezekiel, check out Knox’s birth announcement here. I quickly learned that Cassie was one of Ezekiel’s nurses in his final days. What a blessing it was to meet one of the nurses who cared for a boy that will forever have a deep impact on my family. I immediately felt close to them through our multiple emotional connections and it was such a pleasure to capture these images. The Achenbach’s have 3 sweet girls who definitely knew how to work the camera.
